Being a software developer for 30+ years I dicovered the WebsiteBaker project in 2007. I soon fell in love with the simplicity but at the same time the unlimited power of this CMS.
As a professional WebsiteBaker developer ( Dev4me ) I try to give something back to this amazing project by trying to help as much as I can in the community forum.
Unfortunatly, because the forum is getting larger and larger, sometimes it is hard to find the correct answer to questions by inexperienced users.
This site is created to write blog articles to help the WebsiteBaker users to find the solutions for common problems, but also to publish tips you might not even think about.
Most of the articles will be WebsiteBaker only, but styling/template/css/jquery tips might even be helpfull for other visitors.
If you are a website developer using Joomla, Drupal or Wordpress and your customers are complaining they cannot maintain their website on their own... just testdrive WebsiteBaker and be amazed too!
Please note that English is not my native language. Please forgive me for any spelling mistakes :)
More and more hosting companies are configuring their MySQL servers in strict mode (the default for MySQL 5.7).
Many (older) modules for WebsiteBaker (and even older WebsiteBaker versions) rely on MySQL not being strict.
Sooner or later it happens to all of us.
A live website needs to get a new template/layout but you do not want "the public" to see it yet.
The problems with the DNS servers for WebsiteBaker.org are solved. You should have no problems reaching the websites anymore!
Some time ago the master DNS servers of WebsiteBaker were changed. Since that time it is difficult to reach the WebsiteBaker websites for some. It was reported in the websitebaker forum, but if you cannot connect there you might have missed it.
WebsiteBaker does not have any intrusion detection on the admin pages, so any brute-force attack can go on for a long time without you knowing about it.
There is a solution.
Upgrading WB to the latest version is always a good idea.. but..
Unfortuntly there are some default settings enabled that could break your website after upgrading from an older revision.
